BE A STAR IN SOMEONE'S LIFE
Project 2005 is a qualified 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductible.
Your contribution will go directly to needy students. We are run almost entirely by volunteers, which keeps
administrative expenses extremely low.
The majority of students drop out because they are unable to afford school. The basic costs for fees, uniforms
and books can be $150 or more in a country where the annual average income is less than $500.
Project2005 scholarships help educate, and provide healthcare to dedicated students who otherwise would not be
able to attend high school in Guinea, a vibrant country hampered by a 39% literacy rate. "We’re amazed at the
profound impact that a modest investment in education can have on these students, their families, and indeed
their entire villages" said Mr. Mamoudou Diane, the organization’s founding chair. For ambitious students in
the agrarian parts of the country, an outside benefactor can be the road out of poverty.
Project 2005 operates a small staff in Guinea who monitors the students’ progress and care. More than 90% of
Project 2005’s annual budget goes directly to student scholarships. Its directors are based in the U.S. and
are all volunteers.
"Like many other organizations, Project 2005 focuses on primary school education and we make a long-term
investment in each of our students," said Mr. Diane. "Through the generous support of our donors and backers,
we are able to target a large number of students we can support each year."
